Tapemasta: This mixtape might go over some of your heads because of the current state of music today which alot of you listen or download. But believe me, this joint has that real feel of music. This will be one of my most favorite joints of 2009 for me.

Never in the history of mixtapes has a project like this come to fruition, or even been conceived. 8 out of 10 DJ’s in the Diggers Union Local 1200 camp ( Hevehitta, DJ Unexpected, DJ Rob Shock, Scratchmasta Jazzy G, DJ Osk, DJ Casper, DJ Crazy Chris & DJ Showtime) combine for 67 tracks of music history. From remixes to rare demos to breaks only Afrika Bambaata knows about, rest assure the cd is nothing less than historical. Since everyone is apparently trying their hand at playing “old school” on their mixtapes, ignore the rest and adore the best! Enjoy and be educated!

Welcome DJ Danny Dee to the Rapmullet review section. Shout to Six Six for sending this project my way too. I made it a point not to listen to any MJ mixtapes after he passed. However, this mixtape will not be denied. I grew up on MJ. I think I was in fourth grade when Thriller dropped. We used to try to break dance to that album as corny as that sounds. I know the mans catalog so why would I want to hear it again in a non-mixed format? However, the blends...the blends add that element of "never heard before". You hear how the DJ hears MJs music.

Any good blend mixtape starts and ends with the beats. Now with MJ you know you're gonna have some beat on beat blends cause he doesn't have an acapella for every track he ever did. That means the skills need to be proper, the ear needs to be sharp, other wise we're talking train wreck of epic proportions. I'm not going blend for blend with the review, just know Danny Dee mixes a proper blend of classic breaks and beats. I was amazed cause he took "Got To Be There" which is one of the softest MJ tracks and thugged it out with "The Bridge Is Over". The same could be said for "Will You Be There". That joint need to come with a neck brace and a RX for vicodon. He turned one of the most pop MJ joints, "Rockin' Robin" into a banger too. I like the fact that the non-blend tracks early were not the well-known pop classics. You get some of those near the end of the project but early on Danny Dee kept the flow going with joints like "Darling Dear", "Heartbreak Hotel", "Enjoy Yourself" and "Girlfriend". That shit made the mixtape for me. I hadn't heard "Liberian Girl" in forever either, that tracks cracks me up for some reason. A few stand out blends you must fuck with..."Dancing Machine", "The Love You Save" and "Black Or White"...that high energy shit will have you in the third lane out running state troopers. It's about as close to classic as you can get when using classic MJ music. Def a mixtape for the collection. Shout to DJ Danny Dee for keeping blend hope alive.

Many can boast about being a mix tape king and the #1 DJ, but how many can actually say that they’re a PIONEER? Enter the Legendary DJ Showtime. In an industry where gimmicks and trends sell, Showtime has stuck to a formula that undoubtedly works and has served him well for over 2 decades. HARD WORK AND CONSISTENCY. Having over 5,000 venues done and millions of dedicated fans of his work, Showtime will strike you as the everyday guy next door… until the lights go low and the music starts to play. You will be taken on a ride that you will not want to get off of. Early in his teens, Showtime began working as an opening DJ in Harlem, NY learning and perfecting his craft. By the time he reached his early 20's, he was already making an impact on the Hip Hop world as a prominent figure behind the turntables. Influences like Brucie Bee, Kid Capri, Love Bug Starski, Hollywood, and a host of others made Showtime a more focused DJ, realizing that the power to make crowds move and shake was phenomenal. It was at that point that Showtime started making mix tapes which helped promote his skills on the tables to the likes of Urban America. Showtime honed his skills to which he was able to gain residency in several Hip Hop clubs. He also was considered to be a part of NYC's first DJ clique, Hard Pack, which was founded by mix tape promoters, Rock and Will. The Hard Pack became one of the best known organizations in mix tape history, gaining national fame in The Source Magazine, Rap Pages and on MTV's Yo! MTV Raps, which was hosted by Fab 5 Freddy. The mid 90's were crucial for Showtime because this was the time in which major definition took place in his career. Showtime's mix tape sales were high in volume and that led him to become one of the most highly respected Mix Tape Dj's in his time. He is still remembered as one of the pioneers of the mix tape arena and recognized as one of the top club DJ's in New England. In 1997, Showtime became a Mix show DJ at WNEZ JAMZ 910 AM. His show, The Friday Night Thunderstorm, took the airwaves with an extreme and influential acceptance. During this time, his slot had the highest Arbitron ratings for a mix show in Connecticut (33.1 share). His career exploded on a commercial radio level. In 2000, Showtime was also awarded Urban Network's Mix show DJ of the Year. In 2002 Showtime was named The Mix Show Power Summit’s most slept on DJ of the Year. Since then Showtime has been a mixer for various Urban Stations before making his home as Mix Show Coordinator and On Air Personality/Mixer on WPHH Power 104.1 Showtime is also a part of one of the most influential organizations of DJ's in the field of music today known as the CORE DJ'S. Now Showtime has taken on a new role with Shreveport LA's Magic 102.9 every Saturday Night for the Sexy Saturday Night mix from 10pm- Midnight, and Connecticut’s own Kiss 95.7 Every Sunday Night Jam Makin' Me Krazy from 6-10pm mixing the hits and the best music every weekend.
